Mommy’s Company (MC): How did you come up with your business idea?
Eve Newhart (EN): I found after having kids that shopping could be a very therapeutic experience, at the right boutique and with the right help from salespeople
MC: How did you make your vision a reality?
EN: I made a business plan with my mother who started a very successful pharmaceutical company. I also solicited input from friends and family.
MC: What was your most exciting entrepreneur moment?
EN: A non-stop opening day and night
MC: What was your biggest obstacle?
EN: My location is tricky. I need to continually advertise to get people here
MC: How did you overcome the obstacle?
EN: Currently I do at least monthly mailings and emails. I also have great friends who spread the word.
MC: What surprises you most about being an entrepreneur?
EN: How much I love it!
MC: What advice do you give to entrepreneurial moms just starting out?
EN: You need to be ready and you cantrong
MC: What book has inspired you?
EN: When’s the last time after having 3 kids that I got to sit and read a book for pleasure?
MC: What product could you not live without?
EN: Cass and Co “suck in cami’s” and my Treo
MC: What is your first thought in the morning?
EN: It’s 5 am and the baby’s up
MC: What do your kids think of your business?
EN: They think it’s pretty cool; but don’t like when I work Saturdays all the time.
